Puerto Vallarta Beaches and Points of Interest

Playa Camarones ( Shrimp Beach ) - This is the northernmost beach in Puerto Vallarta. The beach was named after the shrimp fisherman that used to unload and sell their catch on the shores of this beach.

Playa Olas Atlas ( High Waves Beach ) - this beach is near the fishing pier and extents north to Cuale River. This beach is popular with the locals. The beach is does not have strong waves as its name suggests.

Playa Los Muertos ( Dead Mans Beach ) - This is Puerto Vallarta's largest public beach. It is also popular with locals and Mexican nationals.

Playa Boca de Tomates ( Mouth of Tomatoes ) - This beach is located at the mouth of the Ameca River. The river tends to get muddy and not clear. The beach is loosing sand and is more gravel than sand during some months.

Playa Gemelas - this beach lies to the south of the central beaches in Puerto Vallarta. The beach is close to the Los Arcos Marine Natural Area. The beach does not have amenities or as many vendors as the other beaches.

Playa Mismaloya - this beach is located south of Puerto Vallarta at the mouth of the Mismaloya River. There are vendors and a few restaurants located near this beach.
