Baja Peninsula

The Baja Peninsula is a long stretch of land that extends from Southern California for about 500 miles to the south. The peninsula forms the Gulf of California, also know as the Sea of Cortez. The Gulf has warm water temperatures year round. The pacific coast also has warm waters but will fluctuate a little more than the Gulf. There are several resort destination located in the Baja Peninsula. Most are either located in the northern section ( near California ) or the southern tip of the Peninsula. Pacific Coast

This region is the southern part of Mexico that lies on the Pacific Ocean. This area is near the equator making the weather tropical year round. The water temperatures are near 70-80 in most locations. The temperature is usually between 80-90 in the vacation months. There are many resort areas that dot this coast ranging from the well known to the small and isolated. Each resort area offers something a little different than the next. There are many excellent beaches ideal for sunbathing, swimming, surfing and more.

Central

The Central region of Mexico is made up of the higher land areas between the two coasts. There are lush tropical forests, high mountain peaks, deep valleys with running rivers, grasslands and many other types of habitats. This region also has many of the natural and historical treasures that many tourists are looking for. Though there are not the beautiful beaches that the Pacific and Caribbean regions have, the Central region has many natural wonders from clear blue lakes, mountains, waterfalls that the other regions do not offer.

Caribbean Coast

The Caribbean Cost is home to many archeological sites of great historical value. The beaches in the Yucatan Peninsula are second to none. The clear blue water, fine white sand and the people make this region special. As with other travel regions in Mexico, this region also has tropical weather in the summer and nice mild climate in the fall and winter.
