Mazatlan Airport and Transportation
The closest and largest airport that provides daily scheduled service to Mazatlan is General Rafael Buelna International Airport ( MZT ). It has one terminal and two concourses. The airport is close too sea level at 38 feet. Many large and some smaller airlines have regularly scheduled service.



There are many taxis driving around Mazatlan. They are open topped cars called pulmonias by the locals. There is also two bus systems. The first type of service is mainly for the tourists. It cast about 80 cents or so for a trip. These are typically nice busses that are air conditioned and in pretty good shape. They mainly travel between resort areas and other tours places of interest. The second type of bus service is mainly for the locals that they use to get around. These are typically a little less comfortable and require a good knowledge of the city to get around.
