There are many street vendors ready to sell you anything you like but don’t buy from the first vendor you see. There are plenty more around the corner. It is expected to bargain about the price a little.

The most popular shopping location is the Golden Zone. There are many vendors selling their imported items. There are however a few stores here that sell authentic local clothing and handcrafts. This place is well worth the look to take home that special souvenir.

Within the Golden Zone is the La Zona Dorado. It is a larger collection of shops and larger stores. The Mazatlan Arts and Crafts center is a great place to find local handcrafts from all over Mexico. It is recommended that all transactions are made with cash as many vendors and stores only take cash. Travelers checks are ok in the larger stores. Another large shopping mall is the La Gran Plaza located a few blocks from the waterfront.
