Martinique Beaches and Points of Interest

Northern Beaches – The beaches in the northern part of the island are mostly black sand. The volcanic nature of the island is why many of the beaches are black. These beaches receive very few tourists as they are harder to get to.

Southern Beaches - The beaches in the southern region are typically fine white sandy beaches. They are however much more crowded as most of the hotels are located here. The waters are warm, clear and offer great swimming and snorkeling opportunities.

Eastern Beaches – Beaches located on the Eastern side of the island are much more rugged and deserted. These beaches receive the force of the Atlantic Ocean and feature crashing waves and rocky coastlines. There are however some very good and deserted beaches for the tourists willing to explore this area.
