Ixtapa Weather and SeasonsThe weather in the Ixtapa and Zihuantanejo regions are mild and tropical. There are two seasons, the wet season and the dry season. The wet season usually runs from June through November. The region receives a few inches of rain a month during the wetter months. The humidity can reach 70 – 80 percent during the wet season making the air heavy with moisture. Ixtapa does have the occasional hurricane but they are rare. Hurricane season is similar to the rainy season. The water temperature in Ixtapa and Zihuantanejo is in the high 70’s and low 80’s. The water is clear and usually calm. There are waves and heavy surf at times so caution should be used while swimming during these conditions.
