Ixtapa Airport and Transportation
Ixtapa has its own airport ( Ixtapa-Zihuantanejo International airport ). The airport is located just outside of town and is a short taxi ride to the main resort areas near the beaches.

Travel to and from the airport is best accomplished by taking a taxi or having the hotel shuttles pick you up and drop you off. It is also best of use the taxis and bus services to travel to the local attractions. Renting a car is only recommended if the visitor is traveling outside the local area.
