Travel Tips

It is advised that tourists should stay in the tourist areas for safety reasons. ixtapa, like most all other large resorts has its share of petty criminals looking to steal your belongings if you are not careful. It is best to leave all your expensive belongings at home and take little of value with you on your trip.

Timeshare vendors are always present in resort areas. Please be advised that if someone in front of a hotel approaches you and offers you a free tour, it is probably a timeshare salesmen looking to sign you up for a presentation. Do yourself a favor and walk away and do not take any services they offer.

Make sure you negotiate your transportation to and from the hotels before you leave. It is best to arrange your transportation through the hotel or travel agents. There are many not so truthful vendors at the airport that are looking to take your money.
