Grenada Beaches and Points of Interest

There are many beaches in Grenada. The island has many bays and inlets that have protected beaches perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Most of the sand on the beaches where formed by pulverized coral from the surrounding coral reefs and washed ashore. The sand on these beaches ranges from fine to the more grainy texture. Several black sand beaches are also of interest to tourist.

Most of the popular beaches are located in the southwestern part of the island. The most famous of Granada’s beaches is the two mile long Grand Anse located just sough of St Georges.

The hotels in Grenada by law cannot encroach on the beaches. This ensures that beaches are readily available to all tourists and visitors. Hotels cannot be more than three stories or higher than the tallest palm tree.
