Dominican Republic Weather and SeasonsThe weather in the Dominican Republic is tropical and mild. The average temperature is in the low to mid 80’s in the dry season and a but higher in the rainy season. The dry season is from December through May and the rainy season is from June through November. The island receives about 40 inches of rain a year. This can vary widely as the tropical rain forests receive much more. The mountain regions also receive a much high annual rainfall. The Dominican Republic lies in the central Caribbean. This region is in the middle of the hurricane zone and is struck by hurricanes from time to time.
