Dominica Airport and Transportation
There are two airports on the island, neither of which can accommodate large aircraft. All flights originate from other islands or Puerto Rico. The main airport in Dominica is Melville Hall(DOM). The second, smaller airport is Canefield(DCF). The Melville Hall airport receives the most flights.

Travel around the island is an adventure. The roads are in need of constant repair, small and windy. The roads have to travel around the mountains so the time it takes to travel from one end of the island to another is longer than expected.

There are several car rental companies on the island. A care is a good choice if the tourist wants to get out and explore. The taxi service is limited as is the bus service.
