The Cayman Islands provides a unique Caribbean vacation for the more adventurous traveler. Located in the western Caribbean Sea, the islands consist of Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. Because of the unique underwater ridge beneath the sea in this area, known as the Cayman Trench, scuba diving is quite popular in the Cayman Islands. Many of the all inclusive resorts in the Cayman Islands therefore offer beginning or advanced scuba diving lessons and experiences to travelers. Snorkeling is also a favorite pastime in the Cayman Islands, as is hiking on the interior sections of the islands. The Reef Resort is one of the newest all inclusive resorts in the Cayman Islands, having opened in 2000. Offering 110 suites, the resort is located on the east end of Grand Cayman Island. The resort’s Simply All Inclusive package covers accommodations, three meals daily, beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) from the resort’s beach bar and restaurant, kayak and peddle boat rental, snorkel gear, use of the resort’s tennis courts and bicycles, swimming pool, and weekly resort activities. Rates start at $275 per person for a studio suite in the high season (April to December, 2010) to a high of $503 per person for a two bedroom suite during the holiday season (December 2010 to January 2011). Call (888) 232-0541 for more information or to make reservations. Beach Club Colony Hotel and Dive Resort is a smaller all inclusive resort, with just 41 rooms, located on Seven Mile Beach on Grand Cayman Island. This resort focuses on value for the budget-conscious traveler. All inclusive amenities offered include unlimited nonmotorized water sports like water skiing, snorkeling, introduction to scuba diving, and usage of boats; tennis, beach access, and an outdoor swimming pool. The all inclusive rate covers accommodations, all meals and non-premium alcoholic beverages, a daily island orientation, and government taxes. Rates begin at $125 per person per night in the season from April to December for a standard room, to a high of $250 per person per night in the holiday season (December-January) for an ocean front room (2010-2011 rates). Reservations may be made by calling Beach Club Colony Hotel and Dive Resort at (345) 949-8100. Brac Reef Beach Resort, located on the island of Cayman Brac, is perfect for scuba divers, as it is the only all inclusive resort in the Cayman Islands that allows you to dive on two islands: Cayman Brac and the Little Cayman Islands. This family owned all inclusive resort spans four and a half acres and offers 40 air conditioned guest rooms, all with walk-in showers, cable TV, phones, free wireless Internet service, ceiling fans, hair dryers, in-room coffee service and private balconies or patios.
