Barbados Airport and Transportation
The Barbados airport (Sir Grantley Adams International Airport BGI ) is the main airport that services the island. There are many airlines that have regularly schedule flights to many major cities.

The bus system is good and offers the tourist a good opportunity to get to know the locals. The bus system is efficient and inexpensive. There are a few types of bus service on the island so check with your local hotel or at the airport to see what is best for you.

Car rentals are available on the island. There are however no national companies and are all owned and operated by locals. Barbados is large enough that a car may be the best mode of transportation if the visitor wants to see the more out of the way places.

Taxis are also quite numerous and relatively inexpensive. Make sure to negotiate your price before starting your trip. It is best to ask your hotel for the rates beforehand.
