All Inclusive Guadeloupe Resorts and Vacations

Guadeloupe is a country in the Caribbean that is an overseas territory of France. The island nation is composed of five main islands and many other smaller, uninhabited islands. The largest of the five islands, Bassee-Terre has rugged mountains covered in lush vegetation. The second largest island, Grand-Terre is flatter and much drier. These islands are a favorite destination for tourists from France.
The islands support a population of about 452,000 thousand inhabitants. There are many fine hotels on the island that are very European. The accommodations range from luxury hotels to the more budget minded accommodations. Beach rentals and vacation homes can also be rented through various brokers and owner associations.
The primary attraction for tourists is Scuba diving and Snorkeling. The islands offer a great variety of locations to choose. Many are great for beginners with shallow depths and reefs within an easy swim from the beach. There are many waterfalls to hike to and other eco-tours. The rum distilleries also offer tours and are a good choice for non watersports related activities.
Most of the tourists traveling to Guadeloupe are from France. Several cruise ships make port in the main harbor. Guadeloupe offers tourists a different culture that other Caribbean nations. The food and services are much more oriented toward the European travelers.
