All Inclusive British Virgin Islands Resorts and Vacations

The British Virgin Islands are made up of over 50 islands, 15 of which are inhabited. There are four main islands where most of the development is. They are Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada and Jost Van Dyke. The islands are a British Overseas Territory that has significant British influence. The islands are volcanic in origin with rugged mountain interior with lush vegetation in certain areas. The islands have many coral reefs and have many white sandy beaches and warm water.
The British Virgin Islands are located just to the east of the US Virgin Islands. The Atlantic coast is on the east side where the western coasts are boarded by the Caribbean Sea.
There are many hotels on each of the four islands. The main and largest island Tortola has the most hotels. Hotels and lodging opportunities are plentiful in the islands. The hotels range from 5 Star luxury Resorts, common brand name hotels, smaller island owned properties and many beach homes and villas for rent. Renting a villa or beach home directly from the owners can be much less than an average hotel room.
Water and Ocean activities are the primary interest to tourists along with the fine weather. Water sports include snorkeling, Scuba diving, swimming, kayaking, sailing and many types of ocean cruises. Deep sea fishing is also popular among tourists. Other attractions include eco tours of the rugged parts of the island, many Spas and wellness centers.
The weather in the British Virgin Islands is tropical all year. The average high temperature is around 90f in the summer months and about 85 or lower in the winter months. The islands receive about 45 inches of rain per year. The islands are naturally porous so the rain water will dissipate quickly.
Several cruise ships make port in the Virgin Islands. The airport is small and cannot handle larger aircraft. Most tourist reach the island by a connecting flight from Puerto Rico or Antigua.
