All of the hotels and villas are located in the hotel zone located on the west side of the island just north of Oranjestad. Major cities include Oranjestad San Nicolas and Sebenta.

Watersports and ocean related activities are the primary interest for visitors. The south and west portions of Aruba offer calm, warm and clear water that is perfect for swimming, snorkeling and diving. The east and north sides of the island are much more rough and dangerous as the larger Atlantic swells will crash on shore. Several gardens, parks and caves are also of interest to tourists.

There are about 71,000 inhabitants living in Aruba, most of witch live in the major cities and work in the tourism industry. Several cruise ship operators make port in Aruba. There is plenty of great food and Caribbean cuisine available. Most of the hotels offer activities to their customers.

Aruba is not vulnerable to hurricanes as it is too far south of the hurricane belt. A is flat with an arid climate with limited rain. This is the primary reason why tourists visit this tiny island nation.
