Acapulco Fair – The fair is popular with locals and tourists alike. It is your typical city fair offering rides, games, foods and plenty of vendor selling trinkets The Acapulco Fair, ideal for visitors with children, sets up near the Convention Center from the week before Christmas to the week after New Year, with rides, carnival games and vendors.

Cinco de Mayo

Navy Day
The first of June brings Navy Day, a nautical commemoration of all Mexican seaports. Acafes

The Feast of the Assumption is a public holiday celebrated in Acapulco as well as throughout Mexico.

Independence Day
Mexico’s independence from the Spain is celebrated in a public holiday with banks and businesses closed.

Columbus Day
This holiday celebrating adventures of the explorer brings closure of some businesses.

Day of the Dead
El Dia de los Muertos (the Day of the Dead) is a three-day festival unfolding throughout Mexico honoring the departed with candy skeletons, candles, incense and more.

December

Las Posadas
Mid-month, Las Posadas observances commemorate Joseph and Mary’s search for shelter with candlelight processions. Feast of the Virgin of Guadalupe
Acapulco honors Mexico’s patron saint on this public holiday. days before Christmas and concluding after the new year, a period called the “posada,” or procession, the residents celebrate the season with a variety of street fairs, piñata breaking, passion plays called “pastorelas,” and a feast in honor of the Virgen de la Soledad.
